Dr. Matthias Demuzere is the climatologist at Cloud to Street where strengthening our flood vulnerability mappings by integrating climatological information and develops flood analytics with non-traditional data sources. Matthias obtained a PhD in Science at Physical Geography and Environmental Technology at the University of Leuven (Belgium), where he also received two Masters of Science degrees. Afer his doctoral work, Matthias continued into a post-doctoral research position (University of Leuven and Ghent) working on a variety of topics such as (urban) climatology, convection-permitting and urban canopy layer climate modelling, green and blue urban infrastructure, multi-source remote sensing, crowd-sourcing climate data initiatives and global climate~vegetation interactions using data-driven methods. During these positions he has been working abroad on various occasions, among others including research stays at the Lisbon Geophysical Centre (Portugal), the National University of Singapore, Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) and the Max Planck Institute for biogeochemistry in Jena (Germany).
